Professor Volokh Quoted by the Associated Press on Issue of Speech Restraints in Cyber Harassment Law

Professor Eugene Volokh was mentioned by the Associated Press in an article that discussed a recent law proposed by Utah legislators which allows authorities to send cyberbullies to jail for a year, and has caused controversy due to its vague language. Volokh said the measure is a violation of the First Amendment: "There are some situations where you might say this is punishable, especially if it's a threat.  But again, it deliberately applies to speech that doesn't fit within any First Amendment exception."
