The Daily Caller cited Eugene Volokh's blog, "The Volokh Conspiracy" in The Washington Post, in which Volokh commented on a New Jersey case involving resident Crisoforo Montalvo, who retrieved a machete during a confrontation with a neighbor. The case attracted controversy as Montalvo was convicted of unlawful possession of a weapon, despite his usage of the weapon for self-defense.
