Edward Parson Speaks to Tampa Bay Times on Issue of Climate Change in Local Elections

Edward Parson, faculty co-director of the Emmett Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, was cited by Tampa Bay Times on the science and politics of climate change in local elections. Parson pointed to how the climate change issue is being strongly debated in the mayoral race in St. Petersburg, Florida. “It’s a shame local government has to be a partner in adaptation, but local government is not the sensible or ideal place to reduce emissions,” Parson said.
