Sean Hecht Cited by Climate Wire on how Lawsuits Help Keep Energy Companies in Check

Professor Sean Hecht, co-executive director of the Emmett Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, was cited by Climate Wire in an article on how a provision in a Republican-led carbon tax plan could insulate companies that release greenhouse gases from lawsuits. "The specter of climate-related liability is still out there," said Hecht, who noted that the threat of lawsuits can be “increasingly important” to society if climate regulations are rolled back, as the plan intends.
