Adam Winkler Comments in Vice News on Justice Department’s Court Case against LGBT Rights

Professor Adam Winkler commented in Vice News on the filing of an amicus brief by the Justice Department that argued that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act does not cover sexual orientation and thus does not protect LGBT people in the workplace, an issue that came to the fore with President Trump’s ban on transgender women and men in the military.  “What’s striking is that it is so different than the Obama administration,” Winkler said. “It also shows that this administration is hostile to LGBT rights despite what we heard on the campaign trail.”
