Sean Hecht Speaks to L.A. Times and Washington Post on California’s Border Wall Lawsuit

Professor Sean Hecht, co-executive director of the Emmett Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, spoke to the Los Angeles Times and the Washington Post about California’s recently filed lawsuit against President Trump. The lawsuit argues that the president, along with the Department of Homeland Security, violated federal environmental standards and unconstitutionally overrode the power of states by expediting construction of the U.S.–Mexico border wall. “In looking at the case, they are making a stronger and more persuasive argument than I anticipated,” said Hecht in relation to California’s recent action.
