Sharon Dolovich Quoted in the N.Y. Times on a Prisoner’s Book Deal

Professor Sharon Dolovich, director of the Prison Law and Policy Program, was quoted in the New York Times about Curtis Dawkins, a felon who is serving a life sentence for murdering a man during a botched robbery, and a book deal that offered him $150,000.  Although the Michigan Department of Treasury is seeking 90% of Mr. Dawkins’s assets, Dolovich stated, “He’s put his talents to productive use in a way that’s making the world a better place. It’s something that we as a society should be 100 percent supportive of.”
