Professor Sean Hecht was featured on KPCC’s
“AirTalk” on California’s response to the Trump administration’s roll back on Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards. Hecht discussed two possible scenarios that might occur: The first would be that the federal government is successful in rolling back the standards and revokes California’s waiver to regulate separately. The second possible outcome, which Hecht believes to be more likely, is that there would be two sets of standards: a set of federal standards that are less stringent and a set of California standards that are stronger.
