Food Law Treatise Translated into Chinese

Food Law in the United States (Cambridge University Press, 2016), the comprehensive treatise on the subject authored by Resnick Center for Food Law and Policy Director Michael Roberts, has been translated into Chinese. The book addresses the complex web of laws and regulations governing the production and distribution of food in the U.S.

20180601 Food Law Chinese TranslationThe translation builds on Roberts' and the Resnick Center's extensive ties to academics and regulators working in the area of food law in China. In 2017, the center organized a roundtable in Beijing on the topic of food fraud. Participants in the roundtable included officials from the Chinese agency equivalent to the Food and Drug Administration, as well as academics from the China University of Political Science and Law and other universities. Separately, in 2017 Roberts was the lead academic presenter at roundtables in three Chinese cities offering comparative analysis of food law and regulation of agricultural products in China and the U.S.

Faculty at the East China University of Science and Technology hosted an event celebrating the translation of the book in March.
