Professor Volokh Comments on Gun Control Legislation Introduced by Senator Feinstein in San Francisco Chronicle Article


February 4, 2013 -- Professor Eugene Volokh commented on gun control legislation introduced by Senator Feinstein. His comments appear in a San Francisco Chronicle article.

But Eugene Volokh, a professor at UCLA School of Law who has written extensively about gun control, said California residents can buy guns capable of doing similar damage as those on the banned list, even if the weapons don't include certain added features or look as "mean."
 
If a person opts for a different gun and commits a crime, he said, "that's not a sign of the success of the ban, but a sign of the failure of the ban." He said he wasn't convinced that cracking down on guns was the key to reducing crime.
