Professor Dolovich Discusses Hunger Strikes Staged by California Inmates in a Daily Journal Article
September 23, 2013 -- Professor Sharon Dolovich commented on the staged hunger strikes by California inmates in an effort to challenge the state's practice of confining prisoners to isolation indefinitely.
"When the political culture changes, it creates a context in which a court may be willing to do something that it wouldn't have otherwise done, which is to hold these conditions unconstitutional," said Sharon Dolovich, a UCLA School of Law professor who studies prison law.
