Appellate Advocacy: Moot Court Competitions


Trial Advocacy

This course is designed for students who will be representing the law school in external moot court competitions.  The course will provide instruction regarding effective brief writing and oral advocacy in the appellate and moot court competition context.   The course will also provide training and support for students participating in external moot court competitions.  In addition to participating in an external competition, students will be required to prepare for and participate in at least five practice rounds as an advocate and five practice rounds as a judge. Note that this course is unscheduled but most practice oral argument rounds will take place on M/W/F between the hours of 11 am and 2 pm depending on student and professor availability.
