J.D. Student Ambassador: Celine Pham
Hi! My name is Celine, and I am a 2L at UCLA Law. I was born and raised in New Caledonia, a French territory in the Pacific region, before moving to Hayward, California, when I was in middle school. I stayed in the San Francisco Bay Area for college and went to U.C. Berkeley, where I double-majored in Political Science, with a focus on International Relations and Comparative Politics, and Media Studies, with a focus on Media Law and Policy. After graduation, I worked at a technology company, where I trained artificial intelligence models.
I wanted to attend a law school that would empower me to explore my interest in the intersections between law and technology, and I could not be happier to have chosen UCLA Law as the place to do so. I am pursuing the Business Law and Technology Law specializations, and I consider myself fortunate to learn from the inspiring and supportive faculty here.
Being part of UCLA's vibrant community has been such a joy, and I am grateful for the lasting friendships I have formed. As a first-generation student and immigrant, I am also passionate about bridging knowledge and cultural gaps and uplifting diverse groups. I became a 1L representative for the Business Law Association and now serve as a Speaker & Events Chair. I am also the co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of International Law & Foreign Affairs. This past summer, I was a 1L Summer Associate at Gibson Dunn in Palo Alto, and I can’t wait to return for my 2L summer!
Outside of school, you can find me weightlifting, baking, playing tennis, or scuba diving. I would not be where I am without my family, friends, and mentors, whose support has shaped my journey. If I can be of help to prospective students who want to chat about my experiences, I would be more than happy to do so. Please do not hesitate to reach out!
