J.D. Student Ambassador: Meredith McCabe

My name is Meredith McCabe, and I am a 3L at UCLA School of Law. I’m from the suburbs of Chicago, and I went to USC, where I majored in Journalism and minored in Psychology & Law. After graduating, I worked as an associate producer for a podcast network. Even though I'm not originally from L.A., I feel so lucky to call this city my new home!

At UCLA, I serve as co-president of the Entertainment Law Association and work as a research assistant for one of my previous professors. I had the amazing opportunity of being a part of the UCLA Law Documentary Film Legal Clinic—a program that attracted me to UCLA Law when I applied—for two semesters. I have also been involved in El Centro, where I participated in pro bono work, and in the Intellectual Property Law Association. During my 1L summer, I interned at the ACLU of Southern California where I got to work with the First Amendment and Democracy Group. I recently wrapped up my summer internship at a big law firm in Century City and am excited to return to that firm after graduation!

Having grown up moving around every two to three years both within the U.S. and abroad, I know what it's like to be catapulted into new environments and fresh starts. I absolutely love talking to prospective students to help them figure out how their goals and skills will develop in law school. Please feel free to reach out!
