Acclaimed human rights law experts Richard Dicker and Ralph Wilde taught Spring 2019 short courses on international justice at UCLA Law.

Richard DickerDicker, director of Human Rights Watch's International Justice Program since 2001, taught Prospects for International Justice. Dicker's vast experience in international human rights includes leading a multi-year campaign to establish the International Criminal Court, monitoring the trial of former Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic in The Hague and pursuit of charges of human rights violations against the Iraqi government for its treatment of Kurds. Affiliated with UCLA Law since 2017, Dicker will return to teach a course in the Spring Semester 2020.

Ralph WildeWilde, a member of the Faculty of Laws at University College London, focuses his teaching and research on the administration of territory by international organizations and the extraterritorial activities undertaken by nations. Widely recognized for his achievements as a young scholar, Wilde has served in key positions for the International Law Association, the American Society of International Law and several other groups. At UCLA Law he taught the course Human Rights Law Beyond Borders.
